I remember back when I was 10 years old
I told my mama that I wanted to save my soul
Next sunday went to church preacher dipped me low
Here we go, lets take it back to 20 Years ago
Since 5 years old , my mama raised me spiritual
Communions and confessions at the catholic school
Third baptist had me involved in that early praise
Singing youth choir, praise dancing on sabbath day
Let's Fast forward to the days that I thought I was grown,
I ran away, you couldn't tell me nothing no
Searching for guidance, devil waiting, steered me wrong
Led me down all the trails I needed not to go
I had to learn the hard way, had to hit my head
Mama said you make your bed, you better lay in it
I was so lost,I couldn't see the right from wrong
Without God's grace and mercy, never made it home
Feel like somethings missin?
If so you need to stop, look & listen
Searching for a father and a friend
Knocking on the doors, but no one lets you in
You need to know Jesus: yes
Got a mighty friend in Jesus:
Take it from me :oh yes
Gods the only one you need:oh yes
Current day, I'm 30, thankful for my life's lessons
Could have been dead in prison missing all these blessings
Still a lot to learn, call it new catechism:
Patience, forgiving others discernment & wisdom
Molding me into a woman with a gorgeous soul
Give back, and learn my bible, keep this family whole.
Submit to my husband & Raise the children right
Play the supporting role...let go, let God take control
Feel like somethings missin?
If so you need to stop, look & listen
Searching for a father and a friend
Knocking on all the doors, but no one
No one lets you in
You need to get to know Jesus: yes
Got a mighty friend in Jesus:
Take it from me :oh yess
God's the only one you need:oh yes
