I am in competition with no one - I run my own race
It may take seconds or minutes - I run at my own pace
It may last hours or days - along rough and unexplored ways
I may be far behind and you may be out of sight
Each moment I keep moving - heading straight from dark to bright
I have no desire to play the game of being above anyone
I just aim to improve to be a little better than I was before
The will to win and the fear to lose - well I have none
No losers or winners, no saints and sinners - what is it good for?
If you can't fly - no need to cry - do run
If you can't run - nothing's undone - just walk
If you can't walk - you better crawl - keep your move
Here's my advice - improvise - don't prove
But then again I stop my motion and I look around
I gently strain my ears trying to catch the muted sound
The sound of speed has disappeared - the silence never interfered
This weary life has lost its need - I forsake my anger and all greed
On my way to Heaven, I'm bound for Hell and I proceed
If you can't fly - no need to cry - do run
If you can't run - nothing's undone - just walk
If you can't walk - you better crawl - keep your move
Here's my advice - improvise - don't prove
