As we walk down the road
On this warm Summer's eve
You're gripping my hand
And our fingers are weaved
In the morning our homes
For our travels we leave
We've got places to be
This July
In July, come travel and savour
In July, relax, take time
In July, smell the roses
And ignore the roadsigns
Get lost to get found
We've got time
We'll go to the seaside
And kick off our shoes
Ardmore, Youghal or Inch
I don't care, you can choose
Where the sea meets the sky
In a clashing of blues
And the seagulls fly up
Oh so high
We'll trek through the valleys
And o'er the sand dunes
And stop and each crossroads
To play a few tunes
We'll visit the spots we go
Once a blue moon
And the place where you first
Caught my eye
In July, come travel and savour
In July, relax, take time
In July, smell the roses
And ignore the roadsigns
Get lost to get found
We've got time
Head North for the Glens
And the Antrim coast road
A good choice of music
Will lighten the load
Meet people whose lives
Have seen history unfold
Hear stories of days
Long gone by
Head in from the coast
To Ben Bulben's flat peak
And pick up some china
In the town of Belleek
On south down to Kerry
And climb up the reeks
We'll see every inch
Of this isle
In July, come travel and savour
In July, relax, take time
In July, smell the roses
And ignore the roadsigns
Get lost to get found
We've got time
It'll never stop raining
It's dull it may seem
But think of Cape Clear
With its waters pristine
Hail, rain or shine
We've got places to see
We'll get there some day
By and by
In July, come travel and savour
In July, relax, take time
In July, smell the roses
And ignore the roadsigns
Get lost to get found
We've got time
In July, come travel and savour
In July, relax, take time
In July, smell the roses
And ignore the roadsigns
Get lost to get found
We've got time
