Better Tomorrows
by Ewan McGregor

My dear father liked to say
Hop to the top of the day
The drops are easy to swallow
My dear father liked to say
Mop your tears and mend your sorrows
To not drown yourself wishing for better tomorrows

You want to think bright
You want to think right
A star falling down, down, down
Doesn't break the night

You want to think bright
Whatever you do
Shadows bring you down, down, down
Dimming all the light
As you try to climb

For life has a funny way of going round and round
On a ride it goes one day
Side to side one day upside-down down down

You can make it right
Well worth a good fight
And if some days have downs and lows
Open your arms to better tomorrows

A floating tune is in thе air
The simple things you care to sharе
A trace of light, a flock of sparrows
Anything high, you dare to follow
Open your arms to better tomorrows
Tomorrows

You want to think bright
You want to think right
To let your heart sing, sing, sing
On a summer night

You want to think bright
Whatever you do
When the strings go zing, zing, zing
Fly high with the band
Just get up and swing

You can make it right
Well worth a good fight
And if some days have downs and lows
Open your arms to better tomorrows

Watercolors in May
Painting a purple sky
Up, and a line, a river
Strokes on a mandolin
Playing a gentle sigh
These are the simple things that matter

You want to think bright
You want to think right
And let your heart sing, sing, sing
On a summer night

You want to think bright
Whatever you do
Teeny bells go ding, ding, ding
Laughing in the wind
Kite on a string

For life has a funny way of going round and round
On a ride it goes one day
Side to side one day upside-down down down

And you make it right
And your heart is bright
So let the world go how it goes
Open your arms to better
Open your arms to better tomorrows

My Son
by David Bradley

My son, my son
You are my shining son
My moon, my stars
My clear blue daylight sky

And if you looked at me today
My heart would heal so fast
And if you held me right away
I'd be complete at last
At last

You are my favorite, favorite thing
Better than sunset, better than spring
You bring me joy, you make me sing
In the morning, in the evening too
You are everything to me
And I love you

My son, my son
You are my golden son
My son, my son
You are my shining son

Everything Is New to Me
by Gregory Mann

[ Featuring David Bradley ]

[Gregory Mann]
All the things my eyes can see
Everything is new to me
Yodel yodel yodel-ee
What do you call it, call it?

[David Bradley]
A clock

[Gregory Mann]
What to do with it, with it?

[David Bradley]
It rings at six o'clock

[Gregory Mann]
Yodel yodel yodel yap
Yodel yodel ee
What do you call it, call it?

[David Bradley]
A hammer

[Gregory Mann]
What to do with it, with it?

[David Bradley]
You tap, you smash, you shatter

[Gregory Mann]
I love it, I love it!
Law dah law dah yo
Law dah law dah ee
Everything is new to me
To me

The world is rich with funny words
They ring like bells, those tiny words
They glow, they shine
They dance in my mind
Like a chorus line
Those silly words of mine
Lai lai ee doo
Lai lai lai ee doo
What do you call it, call it?

[David Bradley]
A chamber pot

[Gregory Mann]
What to do with it, with it?

[David Bradley]
Well, you put it

[Gregory Mann]
On my head?

[David Bradley]
No! Under the bed

[Gregory Mann]
Yappa yappa yo
Yappy yappy loopy lee

[David Bradley]
Oh, dear

[Gregory Mann]
What do you call it, call it?

[David Bradley]
A tulip

[Gregory Mann]
What to do with it, with it?

[David Bradley]
Nothing, just love it

[Gregory Mann]
Love it! I love it!
Yappa yappa low
Yappy yappy lee
Everything is new
Everything is new to me

[David Bradley]
Oh dear, oh dear
Oh, alright, alright
That's enough, that's enough
C'mon, off with you, off with you, I need a rest
C'mon, there's a good boy
Oh, oh dear

[Gregory Mann]
Love it! Love it!
Everything is new to me

[David Bradley]
Oh god dammit

We Were a King Once
by Christoph Waltz

We were a king once
Can we be king twice?

We were bathing in milk
Played for diamonds and silk
Once
But we want it twice

My show was a magnet for the crowd
No one could resist Volpe's crown
Now the little ones
Now the married ones

Prefer Garbo, Gardel, Valentino
La voce di Caruso
Jazz on the radio

You were the kings once
Mon dieu, was it nice

You were knights of the night
Full of glory and might
Once
So let's get it twice

We need an ace, a prince, a hero
With no fear, no tears, no shame
Who can take us around il mondo
Back to success and fame

Believe in you
Believe in me
Believe in you

We were a king once
We can be king twice

We lit big fat downhills
With hundred dollar bills
Once
Can we do it twice?

From Monte Carlo to Paris
In my silver Bugatti

We need an actor
You need not abhor

Listen to me
Mes ami
My bambini
I am the Paganini
Believe it, believe in me

Believe in you
(You were the kings once)
Believe in me

(Believe in me)

Ciao Papa
by Gregory Mann

Ciao papa, mio papa
Time has come to say farewell
For how long will I go? Is it far?
No one knows, no one can tell

If I am gone for a long, long time
I'll pack away a fine piece of shine
The sounds of birds chirping with bells
Drawings of plums, two bags of shells
The smell of bread, a drop of wine
Your memory, father of mine
Farewell, my papa

Ciao papa, mio papa
Time has come to say farewell
I am ready to go, going far
Now I know it will be swell

I shall be gone for a long, long time
Shall be picking many peaks to climb
Maybe I'll see a camel cry
Dangerous pirates with a black eye
Rain or shine, I'll keep in mind
Your memory, father of mine
Farewell, my papa

And as I gamble on my long, long climb
I hold on tight to our best of times
Eyes in the rain, I tried to hide
Tears of a boy who shouldn't cry
Forevermore I'll keep in mind
Your memory, father of mine
Farewell, my papa

Fatherland March
by Gregory Mann

I fight for the land
I fight over sea
I'll fight up to the end
Glory to Italy
The flag in hand
For Fatherland
Il Duce, Il Duce
We sing it out, we pray
The horizon in sight
Turn off another light

Like an eagle soaring
Magnificent and free
We're marching, marching
On the path to victory
We are great
We are young
Italia, victory, Italia, we are strong

I fight for the land
I fight over sea
I'll fight up to the end
Glory to Italy
I fight for the land
I fight over sea
I'll fight up to the end
Glory to Italy

The Late Lamented
by Tim Blake Nelson

Thou art gone, thy life has fled
All shall now bewail the dead
No more flesh and no more bone
No more troubles to bemoan
Like a wave along the shore
You have passed, you will complain nevermore

The late, late lamented
For death can't be prevented
Nevermore tormented
The late, late lamented
No more feast
Now rest in peace
No more pain
You can't complain
No more sighs and no more cries
No more fears, no more tears
No more laughs

My Bubblegum
by Gregory Mann

My gum, my gum
I pop my bubblegum
I scream, I cry
For ice cream and for pie
And if I ate a few gummies
I still would eat a tart
Dreaming of giant lollipops
In thee shape of a heart
A heart

Two of my very favorite things
Licorice swirls and chocolate rings
They bring me joy
For sugar strings
And a sundae with a cherry or two
You are everything to me
And I love you

My gum, my gum
I pop my bubblegum
What a treat
I'm standing on my feet
I'm free as the wind
No, I'm flying
Popping, popping
Tapping, gumming

Your son, your son
Is happy to have... fun!

Big Baby II Duce March
by Gregory Mann

I fight for the land
I fight over sea
For baby poops his pants
Right there in front of me
The poop in hand
For Fatherland
Il Duce, Il Duce
Go smell your farts and pray
Eat your boogers, your slime
You can also get mine

Like a bag of poop
Magnificent and free
You are farting, farting
In the men's lavatory
You're a poop
We are young
Eat caca, big baby, eat caca, we are strong

He poops on the land
He poops over sea
Big baby poops his pants
He's just doo-doo to me
Farewell, Mussolini
Ciao, Il Duce

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio is a 2022 stop-motion animated dark fantasy musical film directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, from a story by Matthew Robbins and del Toro, and a screenplay by del Toro and Patrick McHale. It is loosely based on Carlo Collodi's 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, with the title character's design strongly influenced by illustrator Gris Grimly's work.

The story follows Pinocchio, a wooden puppet who comes to life as the son of his carver, Geppetto. Set in Fascist Italy during the interwar period, the film stars the voice of Gregory Mann as Pinocchio and David Bradley as Geppetto, alongside Ewan McGregor, Burn Gorman, Ron Perlman, John Turturro, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, Tim Blake Nelson, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton. Pinocchio was the final film credited to Gustafson before his death in 2024.

A longtime passion project for del Toro, who considers that no other character ever "had as deep of a personal connection to [him]" as Pinocchio, the film is dedicated to the memories of his parents. It was originally announced in 2008 with a release in 2013 or 2014. However, it went into development hell. In January 2017, McHale, creator of Over the Garden Wall, was announced to co-write the screenplay, but production was suspended in November 2017 as no studios were willing to provide financing. It was revived the following year after being acquired by Netflix.

Pinocchio premiered at the 66th BFI London Film Festival on October 15, 2022. It was released in select theaters on November 9, and began streaming on Netflix on December 9. The film received widespread critical acclaim for its direction, writing, voice performances, animation, production design, musical numbers, and faithfulness to the source material. Among its numerous accolades, Pinocchio won Best Animated Feature category at the Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Critic's Choice Awards and PGA Awards.
