Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde Soundtrack Lyrics

We Can
by Leann Rimes

They'll try to stop the dream we're dreamin'
But they can't stop us from believing
They will fill your head with doubt
But that won't stop us now
So let them say we can't do it
Put up a road block
We'll just run right through it.. Cause...

We can, do the impossible
We have the power in our hands
And we won't stop 'cause we've got
To make a difference in this life
With one voice, one heart, two hands, we can

They say the odds are stacked against us
But that can't hold us back, we will be relentless
There's a voice they're gonna hear
A voice so loud and clear
So let them say we can't do it, give us a mountain,
and we're gonna move it.. cause..

We can, do the impossible
We have the power in our hands, and we won't stop
Cause we've got to make a difference in this life
With one voice, one heart, Two hands, we can

We're gonna make a change today (make a change today)
Because we've got the faith it takes
To win this race, so let them say we can't do it
Put up a road block
And we'll just run right through it cuz..

We can, do the impossible
We have the power in our hands and we won't stop
Cos we've got to make a difference in this life
With one voice, one heart Two hands, we can

I can (oh I can)
Do the impossible (do the impossible)
I have the power in my hands, and I won't stop
Cause I've got to make a difference in this life
With my one voice, one heart, two hands, we can

Breakthrough
by Hope 7

If there's a word of kindness from you, I've never heard it
Nobody else but me, it's been around this lousy day until it's perfect
Just you wait and see

Woah, woah oh, I'm gonna break through
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do
Woah, woah oh, we'll go without you
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do
La la la la la, la la la la la
Don't follow me, I'm too busy having fun
La la la la la, la la la la la
Don't follow me, I'm too busy

If there's a key to the state of joy, I'm gonna find it
And no one can keep me out of the sun
And when the wind starts to come I'll never mind it
There was never a doubt
Cause I have the power to change my life from day I die
In an hour, by hour, I'll be fine, I'll be alright

Woah, woah oh, I'm gonna break through
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do
Woah, woah oh, we'll go without you
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do
La la la la la, la la la la la
Don't follow me, I'm too busy having fun
La la la la la, la la la la la
Don't follow me, I'm too busy

Cause I have the power to change my life from day I die
In an hour, by hour, I'll be fine, I'll be alright

Woah, woah oh, I'm gonna break through
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do
Woah, woah oh, we'll go without you
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do

If there's a word of kindness from you, I've never heard it

Woah, woah oh, I'm gonna break through
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do
Woah, woah oh, we'll go without you
I'm gonna have some fun, that's what I'm gonna do
La la la la la, la la la la la
Don't follow me, I'm too busy having fun

Atomic Dog
by George Clinton

Yeah, this is a story of a famous dog
For the dog that chases its tail will be dizzy
These are clapping dogs, rhythmic dogs
Harmonic dogs, house dogs, street dogs
Dog of the world unite
Dancin' dogs
Yeah
Countin' dogs, funky dogs
Nasty dogs (Dog)

Atomic dog
Atomic dog

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Why must I feel like that
Oh, why must I chase the cat

Like the boys
When they're out there walkin' the streets
May compete
Nothin' but the dog in ya

Ruff
Ruff
Ruff

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher

Do the dogcatcher, baby, do the dogcatcher
Ooh

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Nothin' but the dog in me

Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah
Bow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah

Just walkin' the dog
Oh, atomic dog

Futuristic bow-wow

Ruff

Leader of the pack
Wild dog

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Just the dog in me
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
Just the dog in me
Nothin' but the dog in me

Why must I feel like that
Why must I chase the cat
The dog in me (Dog in me)
The dog is in me (Dog in me)

Do the dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher
Do you want to do the dogcatcher
Well, baby, why don't you do it again for me

Dogcatcher, dogcatcher
Do the dogcatcher

House-trained dogs
Wild dogs
Say it again

Why must I feel like that

Me Against The World
by Superchick

Wanna quit and give up
Simon says to pack it up
Shot down from all sides
Don't know why I try
So take this and kiss it
Goodbye won't miss it
I wanna go back to L.A.
I don't belong that's what they say

Chorus:
They said don't try to change the world
You're just a girl
So it's..me against the world today
I'm gonna do it my own way
And though nobody understands
I'm gonna make a one girl stand
It's not Independence Day
I can't waste time on what they say
If we believe when we have faith
We're gonna change the world someday

Back again one more time
Couldn't keep me down last time
Leaving what I know on faith
To take on the world and make waves
Still standing defiant
Maybe me against the giants
L.A. wasn't built in a day
Games going long but I still play

Chorus

(echo) If we believe, when we have faith
We're gonna change the world someday

Chorus

Im Just A Bill
by Deluxx Fold Implosion

Wow! You sure gotta climb a lot of steps to get to this Capitol Building here in Washington!
Hey who's that sad little scrap of paper?

You really wanna know?

I'm just a bill
Yes, I'm only a bill
And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill
Well, it's a long, long journey
To the capitol city
It's a long, long wait
While I'm sitting in committee
But I know I'll be a law someday
At least I hope and pray that I will
But today I am still just a bill

Gee, Bill, you certainly have a lot of patience and courage!

BILL: I guess. I mean,I got this far. But when I started, I wasn't even a bill. I was just an idea. Some folks back home decided they wanted a law passed, so they called their local congressman and he said, "You're right, there oughta be a law." Then he sat down and wrote me out and introduced me to Congress, and I became a bill. And I'll remain a bill until they decide to make me a law.

I'm just a bill
Yes I'm only a bill
And I got as far as Capitol Hill
Well, now I'm stuck in committee
And I'll sit here and wait
While a few key congressmen discuss and debate
Whether they should let me be a law
How I hope and pray that they will
But today I am still just a bill

Listen to these congressmen arguing! Is all that discussion and debate about you?

BILL: You know it is, I'm one of the lucky ones, as most bills never even get this far. If they don't report favorable on me, I'm gonna die.

Die?

BILL: Yeah, die in committee. (Billy, you're up) Yeah, looks like I'm gonna live! I'm gonna go to the House of Representatives and they're gonna vote on me.

If they vote yes, what happens?

BILL: Well, then I got the Senate and the whole thing starts all over again.

GIRL: Oh no!

BILL: Oh yeah!

I'm just a bill
Yes, I'm only a bill
And if they vote for me on Capitol Hill
Well, then I'm off to the White House
Where I'll wait in a line
With other bills
For the President to sign
And he signs me then I'll be a law
How I hope and pray that he will
But today I am still just a bill

You mean even if the whole Congress says you should be a law, the President can still say no?

BILL: Yes, that's called a veto. If the President vetoes me, I have to go back to Congress, and they vote on me again, but you know by that time...

By that time, it's very unlikely that you become a law. It's not easy to become a law, is it?

BILL: No!

But how I hope and pray that I will
But today I am still just a bill

CONGRESSMAN: He signed you, Bill! Now you're a law!

Sisters Are Doin It For Themselves
by Eurythmics

[ Featuring Aretha Franklin ]

Now there was a time when they
used to say
That behind every - "great man."
There had to be a - "great woman."
But in these times of change you
know
That it's no longer true.
So we're comin' out of the kitchen
'Cause there's somethin' we forgot
to say to you (we say)

Sisters are doin' it for themselves.
Standin' on their own two feet.
And ringin' on their own bells.
Sisters are doin' it for themselves.

Now this is a song to celebrate
The conscious liberation of the
female state!
Mothers - daughters and their
daughters too.
Woman to woman
We're singin' with you.
The "inferior sex" got a new exterior
We got doctors, lawyers, politicians
too.
Everybody - take a look around.
Can you see - can you see - can you
see
There's a woman right next to you.

Chorus repeats.

Now we ain't makin' stories
And we ain't layin' plans
'Cause a man still loves a woman
And a woman still loves a man
(Just a same though)

More Bounce In California
by Soul Kid Number One

Chorus:
We got more bounce in California
Than all y'all combined
We got more bounce in California
We like to party all the time
We got more bounce in California
Where the hustlers all reside
We got more bounce in California
Rollin' easy when we ride

Well excuse me for a while
But it's time to propagate
I'm comin' from the land
Where the seasons never change
Where all around the world
They're all lookin' to L.A.
Always the first in new directions
Cause Cali leads the way

Chorus

Now everybody's by the pool of pleaking out on
Just bump into a playlist
That's all down on mp3
Comes another groovy lady
Parked her mama's SUV
Well I've seen that blonde before
In a vivid DVD

Chorus

California
Just a little bit higher baby
California
Just a little bit higher now
California
Just a little bit higher baby
California
Just a little bit higher now

If ya stuck in rush hour traffic
Out on the 101
Just blaze up and roll the top down
'Neath that California sun
Oh let those police helicopters
Shine the spotlights down on me
And I thank my lucky stars
There's no place else I'd rather be

Chorus (2x)

California
Just a little bit higher baby
California
Just a little bit higher now
California
Just a little bit higher baby
California
Just a little bit higher now

Just a little bit higher baby
Just a little bit higher now
Just a little bit higher baby
Just a little bit higher now

For What Its Worth
by Candyskins

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware

I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind

I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side

It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away

We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Power To The People
by John Lennon

Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

Say we want a revolution
We better get on right away
Well you get on your feet
Into the street

Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

A million workers working for nothing
You better give 'em what they really own
We got to put you down
When we come into town

Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

I got to ask you comrades and brothers
How do you treat you own woman back home?
She got to be herself
So she can free herself

Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Now, now, now, now, now

Oh well, power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

Yeah, power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

Power to the people
Power to the people
Oh well, power to the people
Power to the people (power to the people, right on)
Oh well, power to the people
Power to the people
Oh well

America
by Lou Reed

Oh, say, can you see
by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
at the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched were so
gallantly streaming

America, America
America
America, America
America

And the rockets' red glare
the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
that our flag was still there
Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free
and the home of the brave

America, America
America
America, America
America
America, America
America
America, America
America
America, America
America
America, America
ooohhh
