Billie Holiday - Ill Be Seeing You

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carosel;
The chestnut trees;
The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

Duke Ellington - Alabamy Home

I'm goin' home
Down there among the fields of cotton,
Down where the folks have not forgotten me
I feel blue just for a little girl I'm strong for,
Just for a certain one I long to see.
I'm goin' down aroun' my ALABAMY HOME
I'm gonna see the bee that makes the honey comb
The brindle cow will wag her tail,
As I fill up the pail I'll chase the flies and
I surmise she'll moo, "Thanks to you.
"I'll feed the chicks, and mix some barley with their corn
They love it so, I know they'll cluck for luck each morn
Then I will lie amid the hay
And call it all a day
Way down aroun' my ALABAMY HOME.
I'm goin' down aroun' my ALABAMY HOME
I'm gonna see the bee that makes the honey comb
The brindle cow will wag her tail,
As I fill up the pail I'll chase the flies and
I surmise she'll moo, "Thanks to you.
"I'll feed the chicks, and mix some barley with their corn
They love it so, I know they'll cluck for luck each morn
Then I will lie amid the hay
And call it all a day
Way down aroun' my ALABAMY HOME.

Glenn Miller - A String of Pearls

Ba, by, here's a five-and-dime
Ba, by, now's about the time

For a string of pearls à la Woolworth
Every pearl's a star above
Wrapped in dreams, and filled with love
That old string of pearls à la Woolworth

Till that happy day in Spring
When you buy the wedding ring
Please, a string of pearls à la Woolworth
Ba, by you made quite a start

Found the way right to my heart
With a string of pearls à la Woolworth
Wait till the stars peek-a-boo
I've got something just for you

It's a string of pearls à la Woolworth
I found a love so sublime
Right in that old five and dime
With a string of pearls à la Woolworth

Rex Stewart and The Ellingtonians - Diga Diga Doo

[ Featuring The Ellingtonians ]

Zulu man is feelin' blue
Gear his heart beat a little tattoo
Diga diga doo diga doo doo
Diga diga doo diga doo

You love me and I love you
And when you love it is natural to
Diga diga doo diga doo doo
Diga diga doo diga doo

I'm so very diga diga doo by nature
If you don't say diga diga to your mate
You're gonna lose a papa.

So let those funny people smile
How can there be a Virgin isle
With diga diga doo diga doo doo
Diga diga doo diga doo

No one heeds the marriage laws
Yours is mine and mine is yours
With diga diga doo diga doo doo
Diga diga doo diga doo

Back to: The Notebook

The Notebook is a 2004 American romantic drama film directed by Nick Cassavetes, from a screenplay by Jeremy Leven and Jan Sardi, and based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a young couple who fall in love in the 1940s. Their story is read from a notebook in the present day by an elderly man, telling the tale to a fellow nursing home resident.

The Notebook had its world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 20, 2004, and was theatrically released in the United States on June 25, 2004. Despite generally mixed reviews from critics, Gosling and McAdams were singled out for praise for their performances. The film was a sleeper hit at the box office, grossing $117 million against its $29 million budget, and has become a cult classic in the years since its release. On November 11, 2012, an extended version premiered on ABC Family with deleted scenes added back into the original storyline.

The film earned several accolades, including the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss for Gosling and McAdams at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. At the 11th Screen Actors Guild Awards, James Garner was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and Gena Rowlands won Best Supporting Actress - Drama at the 9th Golden Satellite Awards.
