It's raining on your parade
My friends and I say that's such a shame
All that time to decorate went to waste
And you labored hard, for that colorful situation
You wanted no holds barred
Now you wade in illumination of your overturned card
And your head fizzled out, the steam rose and blew around
What was once on fire is now put out
And you wanted to march, wave the flag on how you felt that day
You thought you were in charge
But it rained on your sunny day, a monkey wrench in your crusade!
You stand disenchanted, wet and empty handed
To that wasted effort you commanded!
