Standing under failing concrete I am smoking once again
Raining is a constant feature, the sewers are under strain
Flicking butts into the cosmos, ending up inside the drain
Turn around, retrace my footsteps, leave my footprints in the rain
And now I'm inside and warm as I drink a cup of tea
Well I think that is what it's supposed to be
The night is going to end and I walk back to the car
I know I'll do it again
That's the way I earn a living
Don't complain and be forgiven
Sometimes I even like it
Sometimes I even like it
Sometimes I even like it
Sometimes I even like it
And now it's that time again as I rub my weary eyes
And then I wash and eat and then I despise
I wish I could stay at home but I think that I would realise
That I would always miss these rainy nights
