Gristle hale and rain of blood.

Something crashed into the hillside
Covering the town in gore debris
Gelatinous heaps of flesh
What a grisly sight to see

Seeped into the soil beneath it
Boring in a carcass pit
Underneath the scorching Sun
Stench it began to emit

From that day the life of the town
Turned into a living hell
In their dreams something unearthly
Like cancer, began to swell

The shape of something distant
With a disarming voice

Wide smiles of relief
Spread on the dreamers' lips
Willingly walked into its trap

Dozens arose from their beds
Malign whispers in their heads

Crawl out to the streets to feast

As its veins spread wide
In the fertile, porous earth
Meaty flowers sprout like fingers
