Well I looked out this morning
Dereliction in the air
The hall was silent
No newspaper on the stair
Well so much for the new day
Wash my face and comb my hair
But no-one's there
No-one there
Head out to the station
Catch a train to somewhere
Say, It's nice on the south coast
Got a ticket for there
But so much for the train-man
Cleaned my face and paid my fare
There's no-one's there
No-one there
Think I'll hitch-hike the next town
And cash my welfare
But no soul on the road
Just empty and bare
So I'll lay here on the park bench
Close my eyes
And drink some air
Coz no-one's there
No-one's there
Well I dreamed I was dying
And the whole world didn't care
They were packing their bags
And going elsewhere
Well so much for the whole world
Everyone's left and there's no-one to care
There's no-one there
No-one there
