Like a garden that always needs watering
Come summer I find myself faltering
Come autumn my leaves are all brown
Come winter they're scattered around
These cycles keep coming and coming
And every year there's a whole 'nother year
So who's gonna be 'round at the end of it
Who'll winter me here?
Whomever it was did the planting
I guess they'll bear the load
Can we trust?
Can we know?
Can we rely?
Can we forego?
Can we honour?
Can we obey?
Can we listen?
Can we say?
Can we love?
Can we love?
Now it's springtime and everything's feeling like
The way it should be, the garden it sings
But soon seasons are changing and who can know
What the weather will be bring
If it's windy then who's shelter me?
If it's sunny I'm gonna need shade
Who's gonna take the weeds from under me?
And then keep it that way?
Whomever it was did the planting
I guess they'll bear the load
Can we see?
Can we feel?
Can we believe?
Can we deal?
Can we aspire?
Can we be still?
Can we be true?
Can we reveal?
Can we love?
Can we love?
