Bahatii - Poised Pen Lyrics

Lyrically I spit dopeness
Warrior Poet shout out to Mayo he be dope man
And I'm blessed to be so vocal like a prophet I got visions and now I got a plan
And I can't help but notice when I write all the power that's in my hands
Healer manifested
Gifted, blessed
So I walk with my head high
Chest out, chin up, talk loud
After every raging wave I've surfed
After winds crash against my body
I've learned to become one with the storm
That being a black creator is beautiful
That no matter how many eyes make me a walking target
My soul will not be pierced
It will only align with the divine
Straight Goddess shit
It's me, I'm here
I'm raw, I'm real
Thanks to all my hardships
I ain't scared to rock the boat
Cause I faith and I got hope
That my setup looking impeccable
Paint my canvas through my testimony
Words they unfold let this pain go
Because I deserve freedom
After the world has tormented me
Placed me in shackles and labeled me unworthy
1 because I'm black and 2 because I'm a woman
Yet my soul is nameless, timeless so there's not one way to define this
How bout you define you & then meet me
Where two sound souls meet
Maybe on the moon
Or under the sun's rays
Some place natural
Somewhere impenetrable
Cause this world be poisoned
And so now I got a poised pen
Spitting words like bombs from cannons
Mind exploding after noting that this shit really happens
But Life be bombastic
Cause we fake the funk when we're really scorched from shit that's done
Pain from war
Since little girls and boys
We been hurting
We been fighting
Head bowed because of bold lies
Bowed because we don't have pride
Like we ain't nothing
Oh we be something
We be everything
You and me both be worthy
Of respect and honor
For fighting a war that we were born into
All because we dont look like you
Fairer skin
But it aint fair how skin be the very reason for our demise
Why can't you let us be?
Be black, be free, be us
As if black is all we were
As if our history was something to frown upon
Look down upon
Hide from
You can't deny us beautiful beings
Not in a million years
So maybe your tactics will work elsewhere
Or how bout you eradicate them
Cause we're still here
And as I write this
Pouring pain from this pen
I pray it will disappear
