The grass beneath my feet
Is where we'll meet
Between these pyres and prithees
The light at last will fade
And there'll be shade
Outside the massive cities
But soon new light will grow
And I won't know
How to escape this privy
When I turn the page
I'll know my name
Until the words start flowing
The dust between my toes
As if it it knows
Will tell me where I'm going
The space between the notes
Is all I know
And here I am
A man by the road
He seemed lonely and cold
And despite foggy eyes
Seemed to look towards the skies
His hands were wringing
So I started singing
He smiled, joined in
And it all became clear
He said, "I'll need nothing else
And I'll be fine by myself"
The grass under my feet
Is where we'll meet
Between these pyres and prithees
But the space between the notes
Is all I know
