Friends, I can't make sense of them
They only talk about what's now to them
Why can't they just go on this trip with me
To see the world as it seems to me
I roll out of bed and see the world a different way
Things all around me astound me in their being there
And this way and that
How is it that the world around me's always fresh
I can't distinguish age
It's just a matter of fleshing out the difference
Between life and death
Can you feel it I can feel it I just hear & smell
& taste & enjoy my life the five ways I see it
It's just as a child your interpretation of surroundings
Shaped the way you knew the world
Can't you tell it? I can tell that it's still shaping you today
Am I different yes I'm different
I like to observe those wee small crinkly things
And let my imagination bridge the gap between reality
And what you see
And me
Can you dig it I can dig the course I'm on
Blowing and breezing like a leaf
That's overturned and stepped on
I can dig the sun's rays the wind's cold
The hang-ups we call our human mould
Yes all around me there's a wealth of gold
Spirit I simply refuse to deny
I rely on the quirks of the everyday
Of what you have to say
Can you hear it? Can you feel it?
Taste it? Smell it? See it?
Dig it!
