Forty five minutes really any way you take
Lord has blessed him with another trip to work today
He's tired but he thanks the Lord for everything he's got
Never been the kind of man to cus that ol' time clock
His heart is kind and his back is strong
Job's a grind and the days are long
He's savin' dimes and bidin' time and payin' down his dues
His hands are always calloused and his collar's always blue
Through the door by six o'clock most every single day
Sits down with the family before the meal they pray
He wouldn't think of workin' on a Sunday afternoon
But he'd lend a hand to anyone before they'd ask him to
His heart is kind and his back is strong
Job's a grind and the days are long
He's savin' dimes and bidin' time and payin' down his dues
His hands are always calloused and his collar's always blue
Winds won't shake him rocks can't break him down
C little dust won't bother a Blackland farmer when the crop's on the line
He only takes one day of rest you'll never find him bored
He's changin' with the times but he's steady with the Lord
His heart is kind and his back is strong
Job's a grind and the days are long
He's savin' dimes and bidin' time and payin' down his dues
His hands are always calloused and his collar's always blue
