He saw her today
At the Café Bavay
It was raining, that day by the sea
She left in the rain
Without neither a swain
Or umbrella to drain out the pain
Where is she to be?
He asked around but the town didn't see
The night came along
And the birds hushed their song
Of the love that we long for in vain
Got up out of bed
Fancied up, toasted bread
And soon after had head out the door
He walked on his way
And alone, on the bay
Stood the girl from the evening before
"Should I believe
She'd ever fall for a boy like me?"
He walked on the pier
And the girl, with a tear
In her eye, looked at him, drawing near
Is she aware?
That somebody cares
Even though life doesn't seem
Like the wonderful dream
She once made
Love seems to fade
Only because she is afraid
If she would be swayed
Then all of her past be revealed
And the boy doesn't feel how she feels
How can she heal?
How can she heal?
Can she be real?
