Living in the city, with the commotion
Where there are people walking everywhere you turn
I came to the city when I got the notion
Now I wonder just what I've learned
The peaceful country life so free
Is a lingering memory
Just like the ocean can call one home
The country has been calling me
Hearing those trucks roll down the highway
On the freeway near the complex where I live
There are four layers of people going all directions
Never stopping to see the moment they live
For if they stop, they might be run over
By someone much more aggressive than she
Nothing like the precious moments of pleasure
If you stop your car in the country
There's nothing like the city lights at night
When the air is cool and they shine so brightly
But natures voice has been calling me to the country
The wind is whispering ... Come home
The wind is calling me home
The country might not have quite all the opportunity
To change, to prosper and to succeed
So if your success is measured by your money
Then the city is the place where you should be
Because the country people can't spend their money
Unless they get out and go to town
But they still have endless satisfaction
All they have to do is take a look around
There's nothing like the city lights at night
When the air is cool and they shine so brightly
But natures voice has been calling me to the country
The wind is whispering come home
The wind is calling me home
Natures voice has been talking to my inner soul
I wonder, will I ever be whole?
Living in the city, will I ever really know?
Come home, come home
The wind is whispering
Come home
Come home
