Started up this morning
As I was looking for my hat
I got caught up in a landslide
As I fell upon my cat
The dogs were barking outside at the people passing by
I spilled my coffee people
Trying to put on my tie
Shadow of the Blues Falling over me
Shadow of the blues just wont let me be
Every time I stopped to think that soon I will be free
The shadow of the blues falling over me
I went down to the auto plant
As I tried to find some work
I had an interview with a low down mother jerk
He said there ain't no job here dont you even ask me why
They're so many applications make a grown man cry
Shadow of the Blues Falling over me
Shadow of the blues just wont let me be
Every time I stopped to think that soon I will be free
The shadow of the blues falling over me
Well its a low down dirty shame
The way they treat us all the same don't you know
And the families that are poor
You can rest assured down to your soul
The evil men that run this world ain't never gonna change
They keep pushing and a shoving
And they say that we're to blame
Poverty keeps spreading to every city block
And the acid rain keeps falling
As we're running towards the clock
Shadow of the Blues Falling over me
Shadow of the blues just wont let me be
Every time I stopped to think that soon I will be free
The shadow of the blues falling over me
