I've been down a lonely road
I don't know what's going on at all
I feel like I dropped the ball, but I
I know that the lonely road led me here
I'm not going back now
All I need is that sound and I know
I can bring people together
And make 'em feel something different
When I was a kid I didn't even notice I was different
The color of my skin? Yeah, what it do?
What does that have to do with me being me and you being you?
We're equal
We're all people
We all got some color, we're not see-through
So you how you going to tell me that some differentiation in our pigmentation causes hatred in our nation
Separation, segregation, man this is some BS
Might as well just grab my heart and tear it into pieces
'Cause half of me is brown
And the other half is white
So, if we weren't meant to be together
I wouldn't be alive
But I am
I'm a beautiful man
I've known beautiful girls
Whether they were pale or they were tan
And that ebony skin
Looks like beauty to me
And if you disagree
Then you must be truly diseased
But I guess
I've been down a lonely road
I don't know what's going on at all
I feel like I dropped the ball, but I
I know that the lonely road led me here
I'm not going back now
All I need is that sound and I know
Everybody from Belize
Put your hands up
Everybody overseas
Put your hands up
Everybody right here
Put your hands up
Now look around
Everybody's got their hands up
'Cause we're all human beings
What you're seeing
Is a new era, new life, new season
This Belizean knows exactly what it's like to feel so lost
That's exactly why I got to get my messages across
'Cause I know just what it's like to feel so left out, but I feel like the best out
And I realized that when you look at all the bad in this world with real eyes
Then you can see the real lies
And you can figure out what life's all about
And it's not about hatred, I can tell you that no doubt
Sometimes I wonder how I got this smart
I guess I do a lot of thinking when I make my art
I know this isn't a solution, but it's a start
If we're together, no one can ever tear us apart
I've been down a lonely road
I don't know what's going on at all
I feel like I dropped the ball, but I
I know that the lonely road led me here
I'm not going back now
All I need is that sound and I know
