A tide apart
From the currents of your heart
For the time I gave
Accepting my mistakes
And stories told
Of intentions long ago
Set sail on a voyage with no destination
It takes somebody warm to feel the heat
Of the burning sun melting into the sea
I was thirsty so I drank the river dry
I was damming its flow with the weight of my lies
Only to find it was raining that night
My mind is afloat
Drifting from the shore
When the compass breaks
The sea changes shape
The life I lived
Surrendered to the winds
On a restless body yearning for the moon
It makes the water warm to face the heat
Of the blazing sun crashing into the sea
I was thirsty so I drank the oceans dry
I was crushing the earth with the weight of my life
I was sorry yeah I'm still sorry
I feel it all the time and the tides keep pulling me out
Weighing the world with the scales of my eyes
Weighing my life with the strength of the tide
