Cal the Rapper - The Chronicles of Cal Lyrics
Official

Y'all wanna know
My life story
Alright
I'll tell ya
Starting at birth
I was born in Lansing Michigan in 1999
I'm creating a mission. To help others see the light
Also in addition, I am here to help with fright
Because I gave myself position to be helping you tonight
I got three other siblings. I love them all to death
You know I'm doin this to make a living to give them all checks Because in our beginnings we were broke as heck
Our parents played the innings and they always did their best
To provide for us, even when they had nothing
I know it was rough tryna make enough money
Dad was always workin so we didn't see him much
But when he came home, we clung to him and showed nothin but the love
Lived in a three bedroom farm house with six relatives
We made a lot of great memories that we will never forget
Like when we had that auction and sold most of our stuff
We packed up the rest of it and moved without a truck
I was 8 years old at the time when we had to go
To a place I never been. Happiness what I showed
This is my life story but you might not understand
What the hell we been through cause I barely touched on that
This is my life story but you might not understand
What the hell we been through cause I barely touched on that
My younger sister and I had went to four schools in four years
We had a lot of friends but we left them. Some had some tears
But when we came back to Michigan we settled in one spot
We stayed there for about 9 years Experienced a lot
I did not have many friends but they were all loyal
It seemed like everytime we would hang out it would be so joyful
I had a disease I didn't know about until eighth grade
They call it Celiac and it gave me lots of pain
I'll talk about that in a different song. It's called gluten free, you better go listen to it
In the summer after my freshman year of high school
I had my first job. Bailing hay, it wasn't bad but wasn't cool
Because that year I found out that I was allergic to all the hay that I was throwing around, it would make me itch
But also at that same time I was talkin to my first love
I spoke to her every single night and I thought about the doves
You know we had such a good thing goin for a couple months
And then it ended very quickly and it was so damn abrupt
