Well ya see I'm a simple man with a little land. Planted on that land is some hay
Well I was baling hay with my big green tractor, when I saw smoke coming out the hood
And I stopped real quick just in time too, because suddenly my big green tractor, it caught on fire
Well, I called the fire station and they said, what in tarnation? Well son, there ain't nothing we can do about it. So I sat on the tailgate of my truck and I watched that big green tractor, turn my crops to ash
Well, my old tractor lit up like a firecracker. I don't know what I'm going to do
I need to go buy me a new one. Need to go buy me a better tractor. I don't know what I'm gonna do
These fields ain't paying the bills. I don't know if I can afford it
Maybe I'll have to sell my home. Maybe I'll have to live alone. Maybe I don't know what I'm gonna do
Ain't it a shame
Ain't it a shame
I lost my crops to a flame. Ain't it a shame? I don't know what I'm gonna do
Ain't it a shame? I lost my crops in a blaze.
Ain't it a shame
Ain't it a shame
Well this sent me back quite a ways. All my crops in a blaze. Come wintertime I got me a new tractor and this one, well this one was red
