Where's the self-empowerment
In being a piece of meat?
The price tag in the window
Says you're really cheap
They're hungry and they're drooling
And everybody wants a slice
They'll eat you up 'till nothings left
Then disappear into the night
You say you're liberated
But I see through your disguise
You're exposed and alone
In front of all the staring eyes
Sometimes you feel exploited
And you relapse to a child
And when no one is around
You just feel used up and defiled
When will you realize
You're doing it to yourself
You only want the hurt
You won't accept the help
Your pain is self-inflicted
You love the agony
It's all you've ever known
To be a slab of cheap salami
Where's the self-empowerment
In being worth a dime?
These hungry wolves don't care about
The contents of your mind
They'll never see you for the beauties
Of the pains that you've endured
Or the poems you used to write
But you don't write them anymore
