The Cherry Tree Carol 3 Lyrics

The Cherry Tree Carol 3 Lyrics

1. As Joseph was a-walking, he heard an angel sing,
This night shall be borned, Our heav'n-ly King.

2 'He neither shall be bomd in housen nor in hall,
Nor in the place of Paradise, but in an ox's stall.

3. 'He neither shall be cloth'd in purple nor in pall,
But in the fair white linen, as usen babies all.

4. 'He neither shall be rocked in silver nor in gold,
But in a wooden cradle that rocks upon the mould.'

5. 'He neither shall be christened in white wine nor red,
But with the fair spring water with which we were christened.'
