Coamhim - Stargazing Lyrics

(I wish upon my only
I wish upon my star
And even though we're both lonely
We're never very far apart
I dream about stargazing
I dream about my love
For me she comes down a long, long ways
For her I fly so high above)

I wish upon my only
I wish upon my star
And even though we're both lonely
We're never very far apart
I dream about stargazing
I dream about my love
For me she comes down a long, long ways
For her I fly so high above

He was a troubled little child with a beacon of bright
Yes, a star adorned the heavens in his dreams at night
And as not a day would ever go the way that it should
He'd toss a wish every eve' at the ethereal light
That maybe it was another little one out there
In a struggle with the forces of growing up less
And someday they'd meet at the end of the road
To confess to each other this confusing mess
Was the question necessary as the hole in his hopes
Asking if they had a reason to exist at all even
If the answer came in the form of desperate gropes
For the same celestial sign keeping him breathing
On the isolated island of a playground puzzle
Broken pieces made of moments he just couldn't explain
Why the image of a far away luminescent body
Seemed to be the only one that ever uttered his name...

I wish upon my only
I wish upon my star
And even though we're both lonely
We're never very far apart
I dream about stargazing
I dream about my love
For me she comes down a long, long ways
For her I fly so high above

As the years fell away into the gaping abyss
He grew more and more aware that life took what it pleased
That the only way to battle the immortal nemesis
Was to force himself to see what he wanted to believe
So he trained his eyes hard on that light so precious
That loyal luminary that had shined for years
And let reality fall away and fade into nothing
As the luminescence shimmered through his thickening tears
Blinded by the hope careening toward the beautiful glow
Stumbling in a trance inebriated by the awe
As the weight of this Earth melted into the light
He forgot that he'd ever had a body at all
As his awareness honed in with ecstasy intense
He could not believe what he began perceiving
His reason wrestling with his memory's sense
That he recognized the image the retinas were receiving
He was looking in wonder at his very own face
The eyes he had seen so many times in pain in the mirror
But there was something unidentifiably out of place
As the radiant ball grew brighter and nearer
As it began to dawn upon him what the difference was
He was losing all sense of his essence of being
And at the moment he ceased to be him anymore
He realized in the face not a flaw he had seen

I wish upon my only
I wish upon my star
And even though we're both lonely
We're never very far apart
I dream about stargazing
I dream about my love
For me she comes down a long, long ways
For her I fly so high above
