It was the summer of '01
Workin' hard at a video store
Suddenly entered two women
Through our entrance door
I noticed something was wrong
So I performed a quick count
Just as I had suspected
There were only three arms present
And accounted for
A few minutes later they came to check out
One or two movies between them
I stepped forward to ring them out
I tried hard not to pay it any attention
The girls started talking amongst themselves
About how one didn't have a date for prom
Would anyone like to take a guess which one
Meanwhile a co-worker interrupted their talk
Telling them that I would be interested
All I could do was stay quiet and laugh
Tough work, even for a mime
The transaction was complete
They both started to leave
I took a breath of relief
I
Wait
The door opens again
I look in disbelief
When I see who's coming in
It's her it's her
Even from afar I can see
That she has got a piece
Of paper in her only hand
And she hands it to me
Call me sometime she says
With a smile on her face
Then she slowly turns around
And starts to walk away
I looked down at the paper
In a state of disbelief
Then I looked out the window
To make sure they were gonna leave
To sum up this whole tale
I threw the number away
I never gave her a chance
And I'm not gonna complain
It's not something I regret
Because it did her no harm
But the answer might have been yes
If she would've had two arms
