Suddenly a knock at the door and she stood in the light
And I knew that I'd seen her before in a different life
So I reached out and touched her and somewhere inside I cried
And she wondered why I looked so paralyzed
With a trace of alarm in her eyes
I said "oh my" and I gazed up into the sky
It was clear I was not recognized
I said "stranger, allow me to introduce myself
I'm a stranger but I swear Ive loved you since the dawn of time
Oh stranger if you give me the light of day you'll see
We were meant to be"
As I looked her up and down I was sad to see she frowned
A tear on her beautiful face cascading down
She gave me her name and asked "are we strangers now?"
And she wondered why I looked so paralyzed
With a trace of alarm in her eyes
She said "oh my" and she gazed up into the sky
It was clear I was now recognized
I said "stranger, allow me to introduce myself
I'm a stranger but I swear Ive loved you since the dawn of time
Oh stranger if you give me the light of day you'll see
We were meant to be"
We are not so strange now
