Crack In The Road - Cracks On The Tracks Lyrics

Crack In The Road - Cracks On The Tracks Lyrics

When we started out way back when
We were only little 8th graders then
No one could play, and no one could sing
Our voices were young, and our minds obscene
We made a tape, it wasn't real good
The songs all sucked and were misunderstood
But we were proud, and it sure showed
All our friends were jealous of Listen With Headphones

We were the Cracks on the tracks
We're walking no more, but looking back
It started out, well we were just bored
Camping with a tape recorder
There wasn't much to the songs we sung
We were just having fun

We got better, we got instruments
We got older, and became better friends
We kicked out Toby our Freshmen year
Hung out a lot, and drank lot of beer
Got an interview in the the school newspaper
Borrowed a bass guitar from Nathan's neighbor
Addicted to the Crack, there was no escape
46 Songs You'll Like was our next tape

We were the Cracks on the Tracks
We're walking no more, but looking back
We met Jon Seaward and he joined the band
He wasn't from our town, but another land
At the end of our Sophomore year the Crack played live
For the very first time

As time moved on, so did we
Didn't hang out as much, and played barely
Cracks on the Tracks was our next tape
We made a few songs, but it was too late
We got really good, but the magic was gone
Jon moved to Hawaii, Chad and Nathan moved on
I was left to finish up
I had not yet got enough

We were the Cracks on the tracks
Walking no more but looking back
I don't why I finished this tape for
The Crack In The Road is no more
But I hope you enjoy these songs
Hope you enjoy these songs
