David Kaiser - Left Unsaid Lyrics

David Kaiser - Left Unsaid Lyrics

About this time, in January
I got lost in the mountains
I don't recall the time exactly
When I made it off the slopes
I was knee-deep in the snow and my toes were freezing cold
The stars shone up above, but I felt alone
Abel's light had flickered out. He joined me at my side
"Who are you?" I asked. He said, "It's me"

Lost for words, I fumbled with the
Zipper on my jacket
"Why'd you leave?" I mumbled, "I kept
All those comic books you gave me
You know I love you but you were a complicated man"
He sighed and said that he knew that the best
"Well anyway," I said, "I'm sorry, I never read those books"
He smiled, said, "It's alright," and then he left

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
The snow had fallen on my map
The lines were bleeding in
The shapes and colors
Danced across the page
So I cried into the wilderness
"I don't know which way to go"
But all that I heard back
Was an echo

Overwhelmed, I stumbled backwards
The cool air kissed my forehead
The conversation sank into my coat
And I sank into the snow
Cain in body, not in soul, fell down next to me
I wanted to say that it's not his fault
I guess that I was scared because I knew that he was real
"Hello friend," I said, "How do you feel?"

"Is that a joke?" he cried, "They laugh at me here"
I said that I was sorry
He said, "You're laughing too, I heard you last night"
I told him that I loved him
The stars shone up above I talked about the constellations
And how Castor and Pollux lived in peace
For a moment, we forgot about the snow and how we'd fallen
I reached to touch his hand, but he was gone

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
The snow had fallen on my map
The lines were bleeding in
The shapes and colors
Danced across the page
So I cried into the wilderness
"I don't know which way to go"
But all that I heard back
Was an echo

About that time, a group of people
Found me on the mountain
"Come on kid," they said, "You'd better follow us"
They were lost too, but I did
The steam was rising off my boots beside the fire they'd built
The stars shone up above and I felt at home
And though I knew that someday soon I'd make it off the slopes
I knew that it'd be a while

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
