I'm flying out to San Francisco
It's been a long time coming; everybody stood and saw me running
And when they ask me what I miss though
I'll say I miss the big time; sitting at home with a bottle of red wine
Ain't it sad how the world just falls apart
When you think you had it all you were really sitting in the dark
And you got the taste of remedy some thousand miles gone
Thinking maybe this is where I belong
I'm flying out to San Francisco
It's been a long time coming; everybody stood and saw me running
And when they ask me what I miss though
I'll say I miss the big time
And now my family is seeing me as cold
I was hoping I could make anew by visiting the old
Common household in the valley next to schooling for the young
Seems the renovation's recently begun
And now the kids have grown; the family is small
Two have headed for the eastern blocks; another made the call
To try and keep the family alive at least the best he can
While the youngest two just haven't made their plan
I'm flying out to San Francisco
It's been a long time coming
And when they ask me what I miss though
I'll say I miss the big time
