DeadWrong - 100 Papers Lyrics

Comfortable with keeping up appearances except
I run from all the dealings of the cards that we have left
The sun will fall and I will rise throughout the days I've slept
After all, I cannot waste the promises I've kept
Broken pieces of a shell
That I left behind
Danger dealings
Way too many to put inside these rhymes
These are my highest times
But not my brightest light
Now I'm trying to climb
But this ladder fights
Breaking down at the sight of my worst fear
I look at you and get reminded of my worst years
I drink, to forget there's thirst here
I blink, and get way too close to tears
All of that dehydrates me, so what's worse
The fact that we're blinded by the truth
Or sold lies on TV
I'm told that drinking is a cure
I'm told that smoking helps me more
In reality it eats away at me
And that really isn't fair
I can't afford the truth
Because I'm broke beyond repair

Trying to reach a higher status
Go for a meal and I hope to pay less
Got no blem but 100 papers
What is life is now my statement

What is life, what is life
I answer this through rhymes
A pessimist controlling all the weight that's on my eyes
My cup is only ever full, if I've been crying
Take me as a fool and I will only recognise
I bring you what I call the truth
But all you see in me is lies
So be careful when I turn my back
I'm helpful in these times
How can I trust you, when I loved you
You returned that with despise
My brain has got a cure that isn't helpful to my mind
I don't even trust myself
I would leave me on the shelf
Yet so many people think of me
As a saviour to their health
I'm the last person I turn to when my body cries for help
I put my body in this danger with the blem that I've been smoking
Mellow yellow is the colour of my lungs 'cause I've been toking
Wishful thinking when I hope that all of you are hoping
I can never ride this happiness yet somehow sell the tokens

Trying to reach a higher status
Go for a meal and I hope to pay less
Got no blem but 100 papers
What is life is now my statement

Someone help me I'm forging my own destiny
I have to know if I can make it, if I can be the best of me
If you test me and I fail, I can still prevail
Use those 100 Rizlas and make a paper trail
If I never switch up that could make me boring
So I have to fix up and conquer when it's storming
Warning, the talent I am hoarding
When I am on the throne, respond to me as your king
My light is forging from the findings
Brought in some variety
Kept in by society
You stepped in through the side of me
I'm only reaching to a higher me
No slacking or I'll fire me
From writing words I can make you *gasp* at the sight of me
Great, is all that I can be
And honestly, I found some light
But there's still darkness surrounding me

Trying to reach a higher status
Go for a meal and I hope to pay less
Got no blem but 100 papers
What is life is now my statement
