Texas border land,Texas border land
High clouds in the sky
These western lands on highway nine oh
The roads lead north
From Monclova and Saltilla
The wind and the desert
Blow up from Coahuila
Slow state highway
Highway nine oh
South and East the plants they slowly change
A trail to the Rio Grande
Is where it leads
And a panther etched, on canyon side
It's good that Pips she stayed behind
That snake it would have made her mad
Made her mad, me sad, her dead
A trail to the Rio Grande is where it leads
Clearing skies to Sunset striking
Boldly to the desert, to the desert plains
Then hard dark sky, spilled salt on a dark sheet
Sliding rain made the roadside green
A coloring on screen
A spread, a shade, a cast of green
Goats heads stabbing, spikes and sage
Grit blowing in the air, always blowing
Over all the fences
Across those Texas border lands
Down from Alpine
Heading toward the border
Valentine bound
Lost here in the whirring sounds
Into the Rio Grande, the Brazos feeds
The sands of texas borderlands
The sands of texas borderlands
The sands of texas borderlands
The sands of texas borderlands
The sands of texas borderlands
The sands of texas borderlands
