Dyler Ruther - Truth and Choices Lyrics

Hey I wanna tell you something
But I'mma tell you a story first
Hope you get it

Once upon a time in the days of barter trade men
A king kept slave's men
Slavery was a thing then
You had a couple of people who did everything for you men
Send em to a home, send em to farm, send em to factory, you name it
Now this king had slaves he had since he was a kid
Since he was a prince
Since he was a little boy who didn't know shit
He loved em, he kept em, he called em one day and said
You've given me your life serving me all this time
Taught me most of what I know and I'm great full to you all
But enough is enough I'm letting you all go
One year from today I'm letting you all go
Go be your own, do your own, get your own
Go
One year
In that one year the king traveled to a far country
To ask about the price to let a slave live free as a normal citizen
It was 10 gold pieces
And then he went home gave em all 12 pieces
And then told em

I give you freedom
Freedom of choice
I give you freedom
Freedom of choice
Whatever happens to you that is your choice
Whatever happens to you that is your choice
Go to this far country
Go and spend your choices

One slave bought 4 slaves on his way
A gold piece each and then he set em free
Another slave bought a horse carriage and said
"I got gold now men
I walking no more men
I'm a master now men
What is 4 pieces to me?"
Some slaves never left the place
(Why will I go there)
Some slaves never left the place
(What will I do, this is all I know, this is all I've been doing)

I give you freedom
Freedom of choice
I give you freedom
Freedom of choice
Whatever happens to you that is your choice
Whatever happens to you that is your choice
Go to this far country
Go and spend your choices

I think we are given choices so we can choose the truth
And even if we don't choose the truth
Whatever we choose is still a choice
And choices have consequences you just have to deal with them
But sometimes you are lucky and the choice that you have made
Which isn't your truth, is something you can come out of and go back to your truth
And sometimes you are not lucky and you choose something you can't come out of
It becomes a burden for the rest of your life
So I think its either you know how to choose your truth always or just hope
You never choose something that you can never come out of
And that's just life men

I give you freedom
Freedom of choice
I give you freedom
Freedom of choice
Whatever happens to you that is your choice
Whatever happens to you that is your choice
Go to this far country
Go and spend your choices
