When I woke this morning
The ocean had swelled
To swallow the town
Overnight
The waters had coursed down
The high street, and filled up
Its vacant commercial properties
Hot dust particles
Hang dense in the air as
One by one the spires collapsed
Falling to the hungry waves
My eyes stung as I stood
Dissolving in the rain
Watching the gavel descend
To finalise the sale
Of billions of lives
In low-lying coastal areas
If we are the brain
And the earth our body
Then perhaps the body is better off
Without its head
OOh
