I shivered
The cold sweats withered the riverbeds running through my head
Icy water flows, growing colder
Frozen clothes cling to red raw shoulders
And pierce the skin
Another year older
The fierce bite of golden memories gone sour
Moulded days, decaying hours
That tear flowers from soil and lay them resting by the stone
Silent and alone
Who knows where the seeds go
Until they slowly grow
I shivered
The cold sweats withered the riverbeds running through my head
As the ice turns to fire, it burns a painful desire through the frame of the bed
Ash and smoke fill the lungs with jokes and regret
And a halo of shallow breath resurrects the dread
We never hear what's never said
The fierce bite of golden memories gone sour
Moulded days, decaying hours
That tear flowers from soil and lay them resting by the stone
Silent and alone
Seeds grown together stay strong through bleak and heavy weather
They will go on
Tethered forever
