A long hard day and another cold night up on my hill tending sheep
I'm just about to lay down for the night and try to get a few hours sleep
Suddenly I feel a strange breeze, standing up, I just can't believe, dancing lights are all surrounding me.
I fall down and cover my face, There's no light in this desolate place, What does this strange thing mean for me.
Emotion then sweeps over me, I hear a voice say come and see, a baby born down in Bethlehem.
A great gift has been given thee, There's no need to fear me, For I bring good news for all of the world
Hills echoing Come and see.
I can't believe what just happened to me, I don't think I can understand
I put my sandals on and walk through the hills, I walk straight down to Bethlehem
I am no longer filled with fright, soon I see a shimmering light, above a barn just outside of town.
I peak through the door and I see, a new family looking at me, proud papa waves, says come and see.
Emotion then sweeps over me, As I see a new baby, knowingly staring back at me.
I suddenly fall to my knees, tears roll down my weathered cheek, A choir of Angels fills the room with praise. Glory to our newborn king.
Years have passed I'm old and I'm weak, I'm still on my hill with my sheep, I don't know why god had chosen me.
I am just a simple man, I'm not a part of rich men's plans, No one here will ever remember me
Yet I feel just like a king, blessed and living peacefully, I am not cold up here on my hill.
For I have a fire inside me, it was lit by a baby, who knew me before I knew myself.
Hills still echo come and see.
