Poor Old Scrooge
Poor old scrooge Everyone's a beggar When it comes to his loot
Poor old scrooge He just can't believe In the joy that I see
His skin is ragged
And his hands aren't free
He's too busy counting his currency To put lights up around the tree
Poor old scrooge
Christmas ain't nothing
When there's something to lose
But scrooge just has the blues
No one hears that he's really sad to Not be a part of the group
They say that Christmas
Is just another part of the year
I say that it can't be
'Cause when else do you find Christmas cheer
Can you make him believe
No but you can try
What do you do with a scrooge in your life?
You can give him love And turtle doves Appear in tired eyes
You can shake his hand
And watch the boy in that man Change before your eyes
You can wish him well
And his heart will tell
All the things that money can't buy
You can sing for him
And the melody will ring for him And scrooge will be out of sight.
