Checking my mom's scrapbook found a
Fortune cookie tag - kinda smeared
Read "the man that you will marry
Will be bald and have a beard"
My mom said, she never found him
Cause my Dad - who'd won her hand
Was clean shaven had a head full of hair
That bald man never had a chance!
Do we convince ourselves there's magic?
Or is there a Destiny?

My Mom loved serendipity
When she met my dad she knew
She threw the dice at fate and won
And she said it can happen to you!
When my wife - then my fiancée
My mom had told me "She's the one!"
I asked "Is it written in the stars?"
But I was only making fun
