If one day I could go back to 2003
And have a conversation with a smaller version of me
He probably would recognize me with all the lines on my face
I wonder if he'd believe all the things that could take place
I'd say, boy, you're getting tall, cause I know he hates his size
He'd flood my mind with questions while I look into his eyes
"Did we grow up to be a superhero or at least a movie star?"
"Do we drive a monster truck or a fancy race car?"
"Is Mimi still around?" "Do we have babies of our own?"
"Is there a beautiful girl waiting for us every day at home?"
"Do Mom and Dad still fight?" "Do we still love cartoons?"
"Do we still drink milk and eat snacks in the afternoon?"
I'd say, "Boy, don't you worry. You'll have the answers one day."
"Just keep your little head up and listen to what I say"
Sometimes dreams don't work out the way you want them to
But you chase them anyway, just in case they do
Sometimes people you love hurt you the worst
But you're gonna find the ones that always put you first
Sometimes you're gonna laugh, sometimes you're gonna cry
Don't forget to stop and look around
When life passes you by
If one day I could go back to 2003
And have a conversation with a smaller version of me
