It's been some time since I first sought Your favor
Still I await Your comfort to my soul
Each passing day augments my desperation
Until life's sorrow takes its final toll

You said You're near in every situation
You stand by me so I won't be alone

Lord, where were You when all my world was crumbling

But through the tears I felt Your arms around me
And at Your word my heart could hope again

If I believe, You say, I'll see Your glory
You bring new life when hope is at an end
You raise the dead and heal the brokenhearted
When I'm alone You speak as friend-to-friend

And You've restored the joy of Your salvation
My weary soul has found true rest at last
My hope in God shall be my reputation
Till all my trials and sorrow shall be passed
