Faded photographs, yellow with age
A dusty scrapbook, filled on every page
Sorted through the pictures, some to blurry to see
A special one caught my eye of a girl on her mother's knee
The girl in the picture of a different time and place
While my time is synthetic, hers was made of lace
Memories locked away in the dust
Seemingly forgotten, but not out of touch
What we'll share forever is a love of a special kind
Memories locked forever in the depths of my mind
Should've been outside, basking in the sunshine
Instead sifting through memories aged like a bottle of wine
The picture out of focus, the gloss had faded away
Still I recognized the woman with whom I used to play
Her dreams were unique, different from my own
I was part of her dream, of a family and a home
Memories locked away in the dust
Seemingly forgotten, but not out of touch
What we'll share forever is a love of a special kind
Memories locked forever in the depths of my mind
What we'll share forever is a love of a special kind
Memories locked forever in the depths of my mind
For though that woman is gone now
And the picture is fading away
Nothing can tarnish the memories
Of what that woman meant to me
