Heikki Rasilo - In the North of Spain Lyrics

Heikki Rasilo - In the North of Spain Lyrics

Here in the north of Spain, the coast is beaten up by rain
Sea wind's wailing at the floors, intruding through the locked up doors
Centuries ago, this city cold as stone
Sent its men out to the seas to fight their lives out in the wars
Bitter tears of goodbyes washed away from the shores

Now the spirits of the deceived still haunt these cobbled streets
All embittered by the past where the love was not to last
With their curious desires to recite their deadly rhymes
To the rain protected youth searching pieces of the truth
When a young couple's slipping down on the road

When the footsteps pass by the unseen and forgotten
A sudden gust of wind runs her through with an icy whisper

A dim light flickers by the bed, the room turned quiet when she left
She'd thrown a pale glance at him scribbling lines about the rain
A few misty moments pass until a sound of shattered glass
Awakens him from his song, he sees she's been away too long
His shadow crawls up the wall when he charges his way to the hall

He runs around the corridor freezing at the kitchen door
Light shines through the stained glass, his mind is blazing through the past
Behind the screaming door and across the marble floor
The window fights against the frame, it's white cape fluttering in shame
The blow of the empty room knocks down the man to the floor

When the cries have ceased, a breathy laughter of the wind
Drapes two shapes down on the ground, shakes the city with its sound
And the empty spectators drift their way back to the shore
Keep their eyes turned to the sea, waiting flashes from their fleet
