Silos of burden, but see you never knew
Begrudgingly carried true and distinctly through
The good times, the bad times, the torment festered and grew
Inevitably rewriting his narrative and view
A "Natural suffering"
Man-up toxicity
Never asks for help
Neglecting himself
There's a stigma with men asking for help
Maybe he's dangerous, is he a danger to himself?
Insurance may decide his issues are outside
And any future claims denied, casting him to the side
Out-of-pocket costs too much, maybe he should just bottle it up
Flowers morph to ash, happiness to wrath
He's never felt more alone, for rationale still unknown
Should he just break and give in?
Or continue hiding behind a grin?
Silos of burden, but see you never knew
Begrudgingly carried true and distinctly through
The good times, the bad times, the torment festered and grew
Inevitably rewriting his narrative and view
A "Natural suffering"
Man-up toxicity
Never asks for help
Neglecting himself
Never gets to take a break, works two jobs just to live
Imploding with heartache, in nightmares he relives
The scenes that torture him, despite being in the past
An emotional phantom limb, the pain just seems to last
He's told to "be a man", don't come to me with your issues
Back to where he began, deeper into depression he chews
Pressure's building up, plus he has to act tough
He's got nowhere to turn, for silence now he years
What could we have done, what could we have done, what could we have done to save him
Eliminate the stigma of asking for help holistically and entirely
Disconnect a record that might follow him around and haunt his future professionally
Everyone deserves a chance to seek out help privately and affordably
How come we don't
Because it's cheaper to let them suffer
Guys are supposed to be tough,
I guess it's cheaper to die
Mental health is broken
Pain goes unspoken
The world is heartbroken
Rest in peace Trevor!
We need to fix our broken mental health
