With a unique flow that splits the difference between fast raps and heartfelt crooning, Hurricane Wisdom's honest, no-frills work has earned the attention of rap blogs -- thanks to engaging tracks like "Who I Am,” "Honey Mustard,” and "Giannis” -- and fellow emcees like Rod Wave, NLE Choppa, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

Wisdom Oluola was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and raised in nearby Havana, a small rural town. His love of music was cultivated in church and school choirs, and though he eventually pursued hip-hop, his passion for melody -- often in a higher register than expected -- comes through in his verses.

Taking on the stage name Hurricane Wisdom, a reference to his wavy hairstyle before he started sporting dreadlocks, he released music independently in 2020, including the early standout "Granny's Boy.”

His first full-length, Hurricane Season, arrived a year later, with the track "So Cold” earning a co-sign from Rod Wave, one of Wisdom's favorite rappers. 2022's State of Emergency featured stand-outs "Real Me” and a remix of "Granny's Boy,” while 2023's Category 5: The Biggest Hurricane offered a remix of "Real Me” with another popular fan, NLE Choppa. Future, Meek Mill, Chris Brown, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie would all share his tracks or shout his music out in interviews.

Though Wisdom expressed a desire to explore other parts of the music business from songwriting to label ownership, citing the fickle nature of being a recording artist, he was still going strong in 2024 with the album Eye of the Storm (featuring the favorite "QTTM”) and the standalone single "Giannis.”
