Ian Taylor - Me Lyrics

Ian Taylor - Me Lyrics

(Verse)

Everybody asks me questions. Imma answer in a second.
Let me take a breath. I'm breathless. Feeling that it's endless.
Nobody wants me to mention all my messes.
Everyone thinks I've perfect how to take my pain and end it.
In essence, I don't.. I don't understand what they expected.
I'm not a saint. I'm not no better or worse.
I don't go to church.
I will not love God until he does show me his worth.
I don't deserve all of this praise, all this attention,
I have not place all your intentions,
I do not hate, I don't respect it.
That ain't the message. I will not spread it.
Life is a game, full of its lessons,
Full of its pain, full of aggression,
Full of expression. Imma express it,
Every day, every set list,
See my expression's not one to mess with,
Not one for testing, not one to tame.
This my obsession, in a confession,
I am insane, and I will flex it.
Work out the tension building inside me,
Through my inventions. Through what I'm rhyming.
I be, hanging from a high beam. Watch me climbing.
I won't let this rest, it gets tiring.
Often I can talk a lot of shit when I jot my spits.
But meet me in person and that's all I'll say.
Meet me in person, find me polite.
No I ain't perfect.
Often I get overloaded.
Hoping that n-no one noticed.
When I'm feeling so exposed that I'd rather be out floating on the open ocean,
No boat to float in. I go on home grab my old head phones,
Turn my phone on low, let a flow unfold.
Getting out these feelings and dealing with how low shit goes.
With how low shit goes we could all dig holes,
Till a tall pit grows, leave it all exposed, so when cold when blows,
It turns hearts to stone.
Too deep.
Look. I've sown it to this loose leaf.
Watch.
I let it go, over your head it goes, lands on a spec of stone on new peaks.
Now you have seen me fall. Soon you will see me spring, I ain't a summer fling I'm too neat.
See this a metaphor that I extended for, wait was it 8 or 4 or 16?
Either way this leaf has landed at your feet but can you grab it G? What you think?
See I get shy when I walk in a party,
And everybody knows me but I don't know nobody,
And I can't lie. I don't really like people,
'cause a lot of them nice, but a lot of them evil.
I just want to be alone right now.
Write a couple lyrics on my phone right now,
'Till I wake up from my nightmare's.
I think I almost died there.
In the land of Nightmare's.
So, I'm haunted by all these ghosts. The only way I'll let go is through using a microphone.
So, don't ask me questions. I need a second. I'm feeling breathless.
I need to make my confession.
I am what Hell is.
Don't ask me questions. I need a second. I'm feeling breathless.
This isn't what I had in mind when I grabbed up my pen and padded lines.
That was back at 9.
Now it's 5am and I'm patching rhymes,
And if I made them I can add a line.
See when I made friends they would scatter. Why?
Because I'd break them when I'd taddle lies.
See I was the kind of kid who would vandalize,
Yea I felt I ran the night until I got jumped by a van of guys.
Then I learned to scandalize. I did it for attention wasn't very wise.
Stories changing up like Pennywise. Losing homies every night,
Cuz I wasn't honest with 'em many times.
Vaporize these relationships. Taking hits like a slave with whips.
Ain't this shit quite a wavy trip but lately it's better.
But it's like fate with twists and I can't aim for shit.
Got so bad that I found a rope.
Yea I've done that twice. Never found my soul.
That's why I write my life down with quotes,
'Cause when my life cries it's a sound of gold.
Put my heart in the pen and my pen on the page,
Create art in a breath. In my head there is pain,
I've fought every second to press through the rain,
I was taught use my head but my head is in pain.
That is why I write my music.
It's all that I'm good at.
My only way to push back shit I'm taking. Hit the nation.
Don't know if I should rap. But I could rap so I will do it.
I love this shit no it ain't stupid.
I can do this.
Be the next Eminem, Mac Miller, true it's not easy.
Screw it.
I'm a self made man with a self paid plan I'm charging.
I got my legion behind me we been fighting.
We are feeling vibrant energy. Excited. Everything is heightened.
This a feeling I don't want to be getting rid of. Better get up.
I know my heart is already ripped up. When I sit up,
I hope my people still rocking with us.
We got in us that Taylor Initiative.
I would say it's definitive that one day I'll be killing shit.
Like that Larry of Fishermen. In a barrel with fish in it,
I'm the pick of the litter while all the rest are illiterate.
Literally idiots who mumble lyrics like little kids
And I gotta change it. I gotta change the world,
Yea I'm gonna change it. I gotta change the world,
Yea I'm gonna change it. I gotta change the world,
Yea I'm gonna change it. One day. Yea.
