For as long as I can remember, I have been different from the people around me
Things that they found to be so easy were a constant struggle for me to understand
Now I know that my brain was always structured like that, from the start
We can pretend all we want that people will fit in neatly in the mould chosen

I might be different, but that doesn't make me wrong or mistaken

This is might not be the life that I wanted, but it is the life I will always have
It might not be how others view normal, even so, it will be good enough for me

There are others like me, and we all face the same thing, the same kind of struggle
Of people not understanding how it can be like to live with a brain that won't listen
I might not be like everyone else, but that shouldn't determine my worth to you
Go on and pretend that everyone is the same, but we will always be around

I won't let you put me aside and act indifferent, I am here anyway

If you remove everything that makes us unique, is that still called normal?
