You claim to know who God is,
You say you know Him well.
You follow the Commandments,
Not to steal, cheat, or kill.
But your lips pay empty honor,
And your mind does not compel.
Accepting parts that suit you,
On the rest, you do not dwell.
Every new concession,
With each small compromise,
Your thinking grows more futile,
Darker, as deceptions rise.
Still, you think that you are free,
That you're not slaves, but wise.
But rebel hearts grow colder,
And harden as they die.
Seek the Lord while you still can,
Call on Him while He is near.
Forsake all your evil ways.
Turn to Him, and He will hear.
Don't surrender to the darkness,
Put your trust in Him alone.
And He will give a heart of flesh,
To replace your heart of stone.
Woe to all you hypocrites,
To those who trust your lies.
God will hold accountable,
Those not perfect in His eyes.
But law is not perfection.
The law, you cannot keep.
You cannot work your way to God,
Redemption is not cheap.
Not all claiming He is "Lord",
Will rise again from sleep.
Salvation is a priceless gift,
Accepted through belief.
To the humble, God gives grace,
But He will not hear the proud.
A new heart and new spirit,
Are for only those who bow.
Seek the Lord while you still can,
Call on Him while He is near.
Forsake all your evil ways.
Turn to Him, and He will hear.
Don't surrender to the darkness,
Put your trust in Him alone.
And He will give a heart of flesh,
To replace your heart of stone.
Don't surrender to the darkness,
Put your trust in Him alone.
And He will give a heart of flesh,
To replace your heart of stone.
Don't surrender to the darkness,
Put your trust in Him alone.
And He will give a heart of flesh,
To replace your heart of stone.
