As I look out past the trees, over the horizon and into the distance I temper my thoughts
As possibilities bombard my mind, each outcome more dire than the other
My mind shifts from hope to sadness, desire then destruction
Someday's I think the earth will end in fire and someday end in ice
Where do I turn now, my body's letting go
My thoughts are a reflection of the visions in my soul
Will I be laughing, how, I can't see the way to go
The earth is crumbling around me and I've lost all sense of hope
So as I see, smell, taste and hear the screams of each apocalypse unfolding
I feel a calm, a sense of closure and wonderment as to what will happen next
The earth has decided that we as a species no longer deserve to dwell here
And we are either being expelled for eternity or just being culled to just a meager few
If we saw the error in our ways, could we have changed direction
Or if we could go back would we actually change or would we simply do it all again
Where once dreamed of grandeur now we dream of survival
How far we have fallen when our feet have never left the ground
So this is our turn now, our mothers letting go
The very ground we were born upon has shown us out the door
The earth is laughing now, and there ain't no turning around
The earth is crumbling around us and we have lost all sense of hope
Fire, Fire
