I'm just sitting here wasting time
Waiting for you to come around but you never arrive
I take another shot of courage and write
Another line to remind me of, happier times
A bottle of whiskey's all that comforts me
Makes me feel warm inside, till I fall asleep
I'm looking for the answers written in
One of these poems I write, just not tonight
Then you walk away, and I'm still here
Is it my disgrace that makes you want to disappear
I try and hide and save you from the tears
But the memory of me just lingers for years
The empty streets are all I'll see tonight
The darkened cloak of night, keeps me alive
I find a doorway to lay down inside,
Maybe someone will open up, and let me reside
Today was tough no one could see my plight
My last meal was cold and thrown, just tossed aside
A stranger looks down reaches out and tries
To touch me I move aside, don't want another fight
Then you walk away, and I'm still here
Is it my disgrace that makes you want to disappear
I try and hide and save you from the tears
But the memory of me still lingers for years
Then you walk away, and I'm still here
Is it my disgrace that makes you want to disappear
I try and hide and save you from the tears
But the memory of me just lingers for years
