Beyond the Indian ocean
And the Bay of Bengal
Further than Arabia
Or lands of pyramids tall
Across the ancient Bosphorus
And over the Persian Gulf
Past Sinkiang and Afghanistan
Floating like a dove.
Asian winds please take me to your home
Carry me away across the foam
Take me to the place
Where they know what it means
That a word is a thought is a dream
The Indian's in his tepee
And the Arab's in his tent
Nomad of the Himalayas
Under heavy load is bent
Sailor sails the ocean
In his house that floats
There are English lords in castles
Protected by their moats.
But could the mountains melt
In the rays of the sun?
Could the wind play Hermes
Over seas where men can't run?
Could you tie a ribbon
Around a thousand little seeds?
Could you string men together
Like a necklace of beads?
